  4. Maayan Nidam 's (Miss Fitz, Laverne Radix, Spunky Brewster) second album New Moon has many different levels. Stylistically, the Berlin-based producer has created an track collection of alternative electronic rhythms that combines everything from blissful broken beat, to surrealist electro, jazz-influenced moments, acidic house, exploratory techno, and piano interludes.

  5. Just when you thought that Cadenza was all about Latin-infused tool house, Maayan Nidam's New Moon comes along to blow all such perceptions out of the water. There is a depth and resonance at play on this album sadly lacking in the vast majority of modern house. From the warm bass, atmospheric chords and lazy vocal intoning 'living in harmony' on "Harmonious Funk" to the ominous acid-led.

After all, the tracks she's produced for labels like Perlon and Freak n'Chic under her own name and Miss Fitz alias all bore the city's musical hallmarks: the stripped-back 4/4 rhythms, offbeat melodies and sonic space of tunes such as "Don't Know Why" were imbued with a certain post-industrial ambience. It was when Author: Paul Clarke.
