  3. One of the most free-wheeling Sonny Rollins albums of the 60s – an album that features some very long, extended tracks that really break out from some of the straighter moments of Sonny 's mids recordings! The title track is an incredible 20 minute workout – one that almost feels improvised, but which is never too free – always pulsating with a killer groove from the drums of Elvin.

  4. The collaborations between Sonny Rollins and any given trumpet player were few and far between, but they did include such notables as Miles Davis, Don Cherry, Clifford Brown, and in this case, his first tandem partnership with Kenny bobscompthekusineticconfransrolltorre.co the time, both of them were also members of the Max Roach Quintet, and thus quite familiar with each other's strengths.

  7. About as classic as you can get for Sonny Rollins during the 50s – from the cover right down to the incredible solos on the set! The album's got Rollins really stretching out – still not finding the freer trio mode of his Vanguard session, but still bringing in plenty of fresh ideas in LP, Vinyl record album.
